Please be advised that theย 2013 MASK ART PRIZE, the annual national art competition in Kenya, is now open to
- any Kenyanย schoolย (state or private, polytechnics, colleges and universities), and
- anyย young personย up toย the age of 25ย ย who lives in Kenya or is a member of the Kenya diaspora.
ENTER the artworks toย win Prizesย and exhibit at theย Nairobi National Museumย in June 2013 and theSaatchi Galleryย in London in September 2013.ย ย
Hurry up, the deadline for entering is 1 May 2013!
Prizes:ย
Theย threeย best artists will be awarded a prize ofย Ksh 55,000 each, and one of them – aย trip to London.
One school, with the best and highest number of artworks entered, will be awarded a year’s supply of art materials worthย Ksh 100,000.
The winning artists and the representatives of the winning school will be invited to the Prize-Giving Ceremony in Nairobi on 11th June 2013.
ENTER for FREEย any number of artworks (paintings, drawings, prints, collages, or works made
out of recycled materials) on paper, canvas, or boards on the themeย “What makes you proud about Kenya”, not smaller thanย A4 (30x21cm)ย or larger thanย A1 (85x60cm).ย ย The artwork should be original and unaided and will be judged on theย quality of execution and ideas represented.ย NOTE: The organisers are not able to return any artworks entered or provide art materials.

NOTE: if your emailed images are selected (on which you will be notified in early May),
you will need to post or deliver the original artworks to the Nairobi National Museum by 15 May.

for artists :ย title of the artwork, name and the age of theย artist,ย tel number and email.
for schools :ย title of the artwork, name and the age of theย pupil,ย school’s address, teacher’s name, tel number and email.
The MASK ART PRIZE is organised by MASK (Mobile Art School in Kenya), a UK registered, not-for-profit charity, and is authorised by the Kenyan Ministry of Education.
