The government is talking tough following a series of attacks in Mandera County. Police have started a manhunt for several attackers who raided and shot dead a police officer and a Kenya Revenue Authority official at the Mandera police canteen on Saturday night. Three other police officers were seriously injured during the 8pm incident. The attackers gained access to the police compound through the fence as the gate was guarded. They are reported to have hurled a grenade into the compound before opening fire. And as NTV’s Nimrod Taabu reports, the government has promised to begin a forceful disarmament exercise in three days.
