Binary University of Management and Entrepreneurship of Malaysia has set up Binary-First Lady of Kenya Scholarship Fund to provide financial assistance to bright Kenyan students to pursue postgraduate courses.
The establishment of the Scholarship Fund is part of the initiatives by Kenya and Malaysia to furtherย strengthen bilateral relations while opening more educational opportunities for the Kenyan youth.
Kenyaโs High Commissioner to Malaysia Mr Samori Okwiya announced establishment of the Fund during a meeting with the First Lady Margret Kenyatta at State House Nairobi.
Under the three year programme, the High Commissioner said ten Kenyan students stand to benefit every year from full scholarships in Malaysiaโs higher education institutions.
The scholarships include six masters and four PHDs every year and covers full tuition, registration and examination fees all amounting to USD 345,000.
The First Lady thanked Malaysia for establishing the Fund to benefit Kenyans.
The First Lady said establishment of the fund was not only an honour to her but also a great opportunity for the bright Kenyan students.
In attendance was the Wife of Deputy President Mrs. Rachael Ruto.
