Breaking News:Musimba Recaptures Kibwezi West Seat

Patrick Musimba has recaptured his Kibwezi West parliamentary seat.

This was after beating his closest political rival Kalembe Ndile.

Musimba garnered 17,103 votes against Kalembe’s 16, 928 votes.

Musimba initially lost his parliamentary seat after the court nullified his election after a recount ordered by the High Court showed former MP Kalembe Ndile won the elections.

The recount showed that Ndile had garnered 16,891 votes while Musimbi garnered 16,773 votes in the March 4th elections.

The Party of Independent Candidates Juliana Kisimbi, Independent candidate Patrick Musimba and Independent Party’s Kalembe Ndile took part in the by election.

Kibwezi West has a total of 54,811 registered voters and 149 polling stations.

Low voter turnout marred the exercise. In Kibwezi West Constituency, voter turnout was at 55% as of 4PM.
