โ€œSo shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.โ€ (Isaiah 55:11)

Those who have for years preached the word of God without any signs of immediate positive response need to know that Godโ€™s word once preached never returns void. There have been numerous cases of men and women, young and old who responded to the truth many years after the truth was planted. Do we have any examples in the Bible? Yes, the story of Nicodemus.

In John chapter three, we find a story of Nicodemus, a Pharisee and a member of the Sanhedrin. He came to Jesus at night wanting to have a discussion with Him. After Jesus told him the truth, he left and appeared to have forgotten all about it. But did he?

My favorite author-Ellen G White- in the book, Desire of Ages, and the book of Acts reveal that in later years, Nicodemus became a faithful follower of Jesus. He used his resources to support the young church. He was sure persecuted by those who once supported and admired him but he remained faithful to the very end.

So, keep on preaching whether people appreciate it or not. One day, the truth will find a place in a soft heart.
