Kenyan soccer referees get continental duty

Sylvester Kirwa currently in South Africa for Chan has been appointed center referee for the Champions League tie pitting FC MK of DRC against El-Ahly (Sudan)

More Kenyan referees have been picked for forth-coming continental club fixtures to be played next month.

Sylvester Kirwa currently in South Africa for the Africa Nations Championships (Chan) tournament has been appointed center referee for the first round Champions League fixture pitting FC MK from Democratic Republic of Congo against El-Ahly of Sudan.

Davis Omweno will take charge of the match pitting Kampala City Council against El Merreikh of Sudan. Antony Ongwao, Tony Kidiya, Peter Kiereini and Israel Mpaima have been appointed to officiate the clash between Academie Tchitite of Burundi against AS Kigali of Rwanda.

Other local referees, who have been selected for continental duty are Gilbert Cheruiyot and Peter Sabatia, who have been appointed to oversee the fixture between Cs Bosco of Congo against Sports Club Victoria of Uganda.

Kenya female whistlers have not been left out either as Damaris Kimani, Mary Njoroge, Jane Cherono, and Agneta Napangor have been appointed to take charge of an African Women Championships match between Ethiopia and Sudan.
