Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool are keenly watching Kenyan-Belgian footballer,ย Divock Origi. The 18 year old Lille strikerย has scored five goals in France this season and has been approached by the Kenyan national team to play for them.
Origi is the son of formerย Kenyan international goalkeeper turned striker Mike Okoth.
Harambee Stars coachย coach Adel Amrouche revealed he is a great admirer of Origi, and hopes one day play for us. ย โWe are keenly following Origi and will not give up yet in our intentions. Hopefully he (Origi) will one day make up his mind and decide to play for Harambee Stars.โ
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is also monitoring Julian Brandt, 17, and Son Heung-min, 21, at Bayer Leverkusen.
Meanwhile, Reds captain Steven Gerrard warned his team-mates their 10-game winning spree will mean nothing if they do not deliver the title.
Liverpool became favourites to win the Barclays Premier League after their 3-2 win over Manchester City on Sunday but Gerrard fears that โnobody will remember usโ if the his side falter in the run-in.
Gerrard has demanded that Liverpool accord Norwich the same respect due to AC Milan and insisted Sundayโs trip to Carrow Road will be the biggest game his team-mates have ever played in.
โEvery game is getting bigger,โ Gerrard said. โManchester City was always going to be huge because they are in the race with us but Norwich now become Manchester City.
โNorwich become Chelsea. Norwich become Manchester United. Thatโs how big it is. We have to treat Norwich City like we treated AC Milan in 2005 (in the Champions League final).
โWe canโt think about what colour shirts Norwich are wearing and the personnel in them.
โWe have to treat them like the best team in the world. Ten wins in the Premier League is remarkable but you get nothing for it.โ
