17 year olds Tracy Mumbi and Michelle Chirwa-Goacher were awarded £1,000 by North West Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce at their first Young Entrepreneurs’ Awards night.
The award was presented by Andrew Bridgen MP at the Heartwood Conference Centre in Coalville.
The winning business, KenziCreations, will offer tutorials on hair, make up, nails and fashion.
Speaking at the event, Mr Bridgen talked about the commitment and strength of character required to set up and run a business and how North West Leicestershire is an excellent location for doing business.
On behalf of the judges Lizzie Leary from Kindred Sole also spoke about what drove her to set up her business – and offered words of advice to the winners.
The winners will receive the money to help kick-start their business. They will also get mentoring from Chamber members. All the finalists will receive a year’s membership of the Chamber.
