KITUI Governor Julius Malombe yesterday said he will snub President Uhuru Kenyatta today.
He said Uhuruโs visit to Kitui was planned behind his back.
โI will not to be available during the Presidentโs meeting because I have learned about it through the press and people who have called me. That is not the procedural way to inform me,โ Malombe told a press conference.
He said Kitui leaders have protested the โsecretiveโ way Uhuruโs visit has been organised.
โIt appears to have been organised by people with their own agenda and they are trying to rope us in. It will not be allowed,โ Malombe said.
The Daily Nation yesterday reported that Uhuru will visit Ukambani this morning to tour development projects.
He will visit Machakos and Kitui.
The newspaper said the tour was organised by Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and Malombe.
Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu was also said to be part of the organising team.
Malombe said governors had agreed with State House that before the President visits a county, the State House comptroller should inform the governor.
โThat is what should have happened. State House should have consulted me. I would have mobilised Kitui leaders and we would have arranged a good reception for the President,โ he said
