Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba’s bodyguard has admitted that he initiated a controversial recording.
Corporal Bernard Odako made the confession before the Powers and Privileges Committee on Thursday.
The police officer said he initiated the secret recording of the conversation between his boss, two MPs and Cord leader Raila Odinga.
Mr Namwamba, the Public Accounts Committee chairman, is reported to have said Mr Odako brought the phone to him at their meeting with Mr Odinga and ODM MPs Junet Mohammed and Samuel Arama with the recording function on.
Mr Namwamba gave the 15-minute recording to the Powers and Privileges Committee that is investigating corruption allegations against him.
