Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has said they procured witnesses for the International Criminal Court cases at Sh2, 000 each.
Mr Kuria said the witnesses were bought to testify before both the Kreigler and Waki Commissions after the 2007 General Election.
Speaking during a fundraiser in Kuria West constituency in Migori County on Sunday, the MP accused the ICC of using the same witnesses against the Deputy President William Ruto.
โAt that time, our responsibility was to get witnesses to demonstrate that PNU had won the election while the ODM was in to show that we had stolen the elections.
โWe are surprised that the ICC took those who testified before the commissions as witnesses against Ruto,โ he said.
SOUGHT FORGIVENESS
At a prayer rally in Mt Elgon last month, Mr Kuria claimed that he, Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua, ODM leader Raila Odinga and the partyโs former Secretary-General, Prof Peter Anyang-Nyongโo, had procured witnesses in the ICC cases.
The MP later threatened to reveal the names of witnesses he claims were coached to โfixโ the deputy president at the ICC.
Six Kenyans, including Mr Uhuru Kenyatta, now the President, and Mr Ruto, now the Deputy President, were charged with crimes against humanity.
Charges against four of the suspects have since been dropped, but those against Mr Ruto and former radio present Joshua arap Sang are still going on.
Speaking on Sunday, Mr Kuria sought forgiveness for procuring witnesses who later implicated Ruto in the 2007/08 post-election violence and asked Mr Odinga and Prof Nyongโo to also do so.
Mr. Kuriaโs latest revelation comes even after it emerged that the ICC wants to question him over his claims that he was part of a team that procured witnesses resulting in the ICC prosecutions.
