No sooner had Pope Francis left the country on Friday than President Uhuru Kenyatta departed for Malta.
On his Facebook, he wrote, “Departing from J.K.I.A. for an official visit to the Mediterranean Island State Malta. I will be attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) where I intend to voice Kenya’s position as I join other Commonwealth leaders in the search for solutions to emerging global challenges.”
Two days later, he left Malta for Paris for the 2015 Climate Change Summit. On Facebook, he wrote, “Arriving in Paris to attend the 2015 Climate Change Summit. I will take part in the twenty-first session of the Conference of the Parties (COP21) and the eleventh session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP) which start tomorrow. This summit presents a great opportunity to put the world on course to meet the climate change challenge.”
Kenyans were ready to forgive him because many world leaders were expected there, and he was actually scheduled to speak.
And then the summit ended and we thought we would finally have our President back.
Then yesterday he posted this, “Arriving in South Africa for the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).”
One ‘report’ named Uhuru as the 2nd most travelled African President this year, and I think if he continues this trend, he will have visited every country on earth before his first term is over. Moreover, he travels with huge delegations wasting billions of our money.
