John Nganga is a 30 year old energetic young man who is in a battle for his life. Â He has been diagnosed with Stage 5Â Kidney Disease and is in dire need of medical assistance.
Prior to this John was living a normal healthy life with no known medical conditions. Â Doctors in Kenya think his condition is as a result of glomerulonephritis which can be caused by infection and this has just in the last few weeks advanced to where his kidneys have completely failed and he currently has to undergo dialysis 3x/wk at Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi.
While KNH is a cheaper option for dialysis, he at times has gone without it. This is due to the number of patients also waiting in line for this vital treatment. Additionally, there is a lack of available dialysis machines.  The most logical thing for him to do is to seek dialysis through a private clinic. The estimated cost of this option is Ksh. 8,000-10,000/session.
John is also seeking medical assistance from a renal specialist in India. He hopes that something else can be done to save his life, but this is a costly endeavor. Â The funds will also go towards meeting his travel expenses, doctor’s fees, and accommodation. These are necessary as he undergoes further medical evaluation.
We are appealing to all well-wishers and people of good will to assist John as he faces this medical huddle. Â The funds will go towards his continued cost of dialysis and his travel expenses to India for further treatment.
