Deputy President William Ruto on Friday enjoyed a cup of Mursik in a villager’s mud house while on a development tour of two counties in Rift Valley.
Ruto sipped the drink of fermented dairy products made by people of the Kalenjin community from an aluminium cup as locals and journalists struggled to capture the moment from a tiny window.
“Happy to have a cup of “mursik” with mama Esther whose house was connected to electricity today in a programme to light up rural areas,” the DP captioned photos shared on his Facebook page.
Ruto toured Bomet and Kericho Counties to launch infrastructure programmes initiated by the government.
His visit to the locals of humble backgrounds was, however, termed as a publicity stunt by a section of the public as President Uhuru Kenyatta did the same in Kiambu County a few weeks ago.
