The Joint Parliamentary Select Committee formed to resolve the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) stalemate has seemingly brought CORD and Jubilee leaders who were always on each other’s neck closer.
In interesting photos shared on social media, staunch Opposition member Bonnyย Khalwale and his counterpart from Jubilee Moses Kuria are seen enjoying a ride in a golf cart as they pose for a photo.
In another image taken after the team reached anย agreement on the electoral body,ย Mr Khalwale, Siaya Senator James Orengo and Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet Senator) are captured lifting their legs in the air as they heartily laugh.
The leaders are also captured sharing pleasantries as they laugh away their hectic meetingsย which were marred by alot of disagreements.
It, however, remains to be seen whether the unity hatched from the committee sessions will withstand the test of time.
On Tuesday, the select committe announced various issues they had finally agreed on.ย Firstly, the Committee stated that aย new-look commission should be established and will have a total of seven commissioners compared to the current number of nine.
It also ย revealed that the new Commissioners will work on a full-time basis just like those in the current electoral body.
