First Lady Margaret Kenyatta arrived in UK on Wednesday morning 10th October, 2018 and in the evening she was hosted to a royal reception at ST James Palace in London shortly after arriving in the United Kingdom. She is in the U.K. for the fourth London Conference on Illegal Wildlife Trade (IWT).
Mrs Kenyatta, who is the patron of the โHands Off Our Elephantsโ initiative, held talks with the Duke of of Cambridge Prince William Arthur and the Duke of Sussex Prince Harry. The First Lady is scheduled to lead a Kenyan delegation for the two day conference on Thursday which will be opened by Prime Minister Theresa May.
The London conference brings together delegations from 75 countries across the world. It is hosted by the UK Government for global leaders to discuss strategies that will strengthen efforts to end illegal wildlife trade and protect the worldโs most iconic species from threat of extinction.
