Kenyan artistes in US exchange programme .

Kenyan artistes will be joining other acts in One Beat, an international music exchange project. One Beat is an organisation that brings together musicians from around the world through a residency and tour programme focused on creative collaboration and social engagement. This peer exchange programme will bring together more than 50 young professional musicians (ages 19-35) in the US to work with their American counterparts in the composition and the performance of new cross-genre works, the creation of innovative recordings and videos, and the development of practices of music as civic and social engagement. Some of the artistes expected to participate in the programme include Juliani, Rabbit and Camp Mulla.

This project is similar to the Berlin-Nairobi (BLNRB) project organised by Goethe-Institute Nairobi and the Teichmann Brothers. BLNRB  has seen Berlin-based trio Jahcoozi, MC Sasha Perera from London, Robot Koch from Berlin and Oren Gerlitz from Tel Aviv perform with Kenyan acts like Ukoo Flani, the MCs Abbas, Kimya and Lon’Jon and Just a Band.
