A Kenyan man has turned himself turned himself in to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office in Southern Arizona after a warrant was issued for his arrest following accusations of kidnapping and sexual assault.
Jim Kagwanja Munene turned himself to authorities on Tuesday after a woman accused him of sexual assault.
Munene truned himself in five days after the Superior Court issued a warrant for his arrest.
In January, a woman told police that she was sexually assaulted by a person she knew.
During the course of the investigation, Sierra Vista police detectives were able to establish sufficient probable cause to secure a grand jury indictment.
Authorities didn’t immediately know Wednesday whether he had a lawyer yet. Munene posted $50,000 bond and was released shortly after his arrest, at 1:30 p.m.
