Raila says Nyaga had Nothing to offer in ODM

Monday December 17, 2012 – Prime Minister Raila 0dinga has termed the defection of Cooperative Minister Joe Nyaga to The National Alliance (TNA) as inconsequential saying Coalition for Reform and Democracy (CORD) will form the government without the input of its defectors.

Addressing a mammoth rally in Loitotok on Sunday, Raila said the contribution of some politicians who have decamped to other parties has no effect on CORD‘s impending victory because the alliance is unstoppable.
Nyaga, who lost the Gachoka parliamentary seat in 2007 to PNU’s Mutava Musyimi on Saturday announced his defection to TNA, a move which left ODM top brass shocked.
Meanwhile, ODM Central region campaigner Peter Kuguru said Nyaga is an unthankful person who cannot be trusted.
“Nyaga was nominated by Prime Minister as an MP after he was humiliated in 2007 elections. And if that is not enough, he was also appointed a Cabinet Minister. He owes his current political stature to the ODM as a party and the Prime Minister,” Kuguru said.
