Voice Coach Gives Music Education Lecture in Florida
Dr. Duncan Wambugu will give a presentation titled “Kenyan Music Education: Current Trends” from 2 – 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan.10, in E Auditorium. He will speak about the historical development of music education in Kenya and focus on the factors that have influenced its development.
Dr. Wambugu recently completed his doctorate in music education at the University of Florida. He was recruited by the Music Department to develop an Africa choir because of his background in Kenya. Dr. Wambugu has worked as a voice coach for “Kenyan Idol,” conducted a national performance that included Ladysmith Black Mambazo and served on the faculty of Kenyatta University.

Tuesday January 22, 2013 – Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Coalition Affairs adviser, Miguna Miguna, is set to release another explosive memoir on February 16.
The book according to Miguna will be titled Kidneys for the King: De-forming the Status Quo in Kenya and will be launched at the Panafric Hotel in Nairobi.
According to the brilliant author, the book will give an incisive analysis on presidential aspirants and their track records both in private and public service. The 300 page book will cost Sh 2,000.
He also said, like his earlier book Peeling Back the Mask: A Quest for Justice in Kenya which sent shockwaves to ODM supporters and Raila Odinga, the book will give detailed accounts based on personal observations, experiences, discussions and analysis of past and current political situation in Kenya.
In the book Peeling Back the Mask, the Osgoode’s law scholar displayed the PM as “a corruption god” who helped his close advisors to loot billions of public funds.
