How easily are you swayed by other people’s opinion? When you listen to other people talk about you, how much of their words do you take in to define who you are? Are you where you are because someone said something about you and you took it to become part of you? Did you even take time to find out if what they said was right or wrong?
Sometimes we pay too much attention to what other people say about us that we loose focus on who we truly are. Many a times we have developed fear and hesitation to move forward just because someone said that we are not brave enough. Most of us have that one moment when we beat ourselves down to failure just because someone said that we can’t do it.
Truth is that people are entitled to their own opinion. Everyone is free to exercise their freedom of conscience and expression. We are always told that we should speak less and listen more but listening is one thing, choosing what to believe is another. Yes we should listen and yes, sometimes what people tell us has some ounce of truth in it but we should also be very careful to differentiate between fact and opinion. Advice is good, let people give it to you but always let wisdom guide you while determining on what you carry on and what you let go.
