Word of the Day:Yielding to God’s Will

Someone once said that every minute you are angry, you lose sixty seconds of happiness. The root of one of our deepest problems is an overpowering absorption with our own desires. In many situations, we prefer to getting our own way and having our needs met instantly. Now when that passion is frustrated, it can quickly turn to rage and we are left feeling unsatisfied.

We therefore need to ask God to meet our needs with His hands, in His time, in His own way and to learn how to yield our will to God’s control and to imitate Christ by declaring; not our will but God’s His will be done in our lives. We need to avoid submitting to our own desire for pleasure as it leads to wars and fights inside us and also with those around us.

We can always call for a time out before our anger peaks and spins out of control. We need to fully rely on God the One who understands us better than we understand ourselves and who cares for us more than we can ever know. Therefore, do not let anger linger in your heart because it poisons all we think and do, rather let’s submit our will, feelings and thoughts to Christ.

“What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?”
James 4:1
