Kenyans on social media pray for the country


kenya-we are oneKenyans on social media Tuesday posted prayers for the country under the hashtag #OnMyKnees4MyNation in a show of patriotism.

A picture circulated on Twitter had the message: ‘Lord we ask you to protect our nation Kenya’.

Kenyans listed issues plaguing the country including recent terror attacks and prayed for integrity, good leadership and prosperity.

@ItsMutai: For those who rise against us, those who bomb us and think we’ll give up, those who doubt our spirit We will defeat you.

@tm_kristy: No weapon fashioned against us shall prosper. Kenya belongs to Jesus

@CNgina: The battle does not belong to us God, fight for us dear Lord and scatter them who rise against us.

@Peter_aminga: you bomb us, you can kill us, you can destroy us, but our spirit remains steadfast, we are not Bwogable. God is for Us

@WillisRaburu: Many are they who rise up against me.. But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

@OrangeKenya: May we dwell in Unity, Peace and Liberty.

@xtiandela: Oh God, We pray for our Borders We pray for our Security We pray for our Leaders

Demonstration by university students against proposed fee increment was also trending Tuesday.

There were updates on which streets the protesting students were marching to and motorists advised to avoid them.

@Ma3Routes tweeted that the demonstrators were heading towards Kenyatta Avenue roundabout on Uhuru highway

@Newton Karanja tweeted: please take care, #universitydemo is on. Started marching peacefully around CBD.
