It is true that our priorities in life occupy most of our thoughts. If your priorities are money and pleasure, you will do anything to get these things and your mind will be occupied with worldly thoughts. In the process you will cross many boundaries and hurt many people. If our priority is to know God, our minds will be overcome with thoughts of his goodness and awe of his might and power and this will lead us to fear him as well as hungry to know him more.
When this happens we will find ourselves naturally withdrawing from the things of the world and seek after God; it is then that he becomes everything to us. We were created to praise God and love him and anything apart from this will not give us happiness.
Scripture tells us that if we do not praise God, even the stones on the ground will lift up their voices to praise him. Every time you praise God, the enemyโs camp goes into confusion; Satan hates when people praise God and that is why he distracts them with fear worry and licentiousness, he would rather have them praising money and celebrities. Take your place today and have a heart to praise God no matter what is happening around you.
“The LORD is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.โ
Exodus 15:2
