Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter has said 21 Jubilee affiliated legislators from Rift Valley region are backing him against the sidelining of the Kalenjin community and other tribes by the government.

Speaking during a funds drive at Okayo Secondary School in Nyatike, Migori county on Saturday, Keter said the Rift Valley and Kalenjin are behind him.

“21 MPs are against the way Jubilee works,” Keter said.

He said Kenyans should be given employment and development opportunities.

Keter said Jubilee is only giving a few selected tribes opportunities.

“The Jubilee government is for a few people to celebrate as majority wallow and languish in poverty and despair,” he said.

Nyatike MP Edick Anyanga said all communities should feel represented by both county and national governments and elected leaders should spur development.

“We have been elected for two years now and electorates should start feeling change from our pledges by seeing development projects in the country,” he said.

Anyanga said Nyanza region has been left behind in development.

He said the national government should work closely with elected leaders to bring change.
