Kiambu Governor William Kabogo was on Wednesday booedย by residents ofย Ruaka during a tour of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Rutoย in Kiambu county.
The crowd humiliated Kabogo when they heckled him as DP Ruto introduced other leadersย at a stopover in Ruaka Town.
As Kabogo was jeered, hisย bitter rival Kabete MP Ferdinand Waitituย received overwhelming applauseย from the crowd that had gathered atย the roadside to be addressed by the Jubilee Coalition principles.
The two Kiambu politicians have been inย each others cross hairs after Waititu revealed intentions to challenge Kabogo for theย gubernatorial seat in next year’s General Election.
The rivalry culminated in an incident in which Kabogo challenged the authenticity of Waititu’s academic certificates claiming that he (Waititu) was uneducated and did not go past primary school.
On Wednesday, the two were not allowed an opportunity to address the crowd. The embattled governor was given only one chance to speakย at Mundoro in Gatundu South, despite the entourage making more than five stops to address residents.
Uhuru and Ruto were in a tour of Kiambu County to inspect development projects where they inaugurated the Kenya Medical Training College and upgraded Gatundu Hospital to Level 4 status. He also launched the Sh2 billion Theta Dam which will serve residents of Gatundu North and South, and Ruiru.
The Kiambu tour is considered a warm up exercise in preparation for the grandย thanksgiving rally to be held on Saturday atย Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.
