I did not meet ‘desperate’ Wetang’ula, Eugene Wamalwa says
Water CS Eugene Wamalwa has denied media reports that he met Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula to discuss a political strategy.
Through his personal assistant Kizito Temba, he said the reports were not only misleading but a creation of the “desperate” opposition.
“It is disgusting that somebody can imagine that Wamalwa can jump into bed with such a disorganised opposition,” the statement read.
He said he had no intention of meeting the Bungoma Senator because their political ideologies do not rhyme.
Wamalwa said the meeting that allegedly took place in a city hotel was manufactured by the Senator’s sychophants.
“I think Wetang’ula’s supporters are so desperate, having realised they are not needed in the NASA arrangement. That’s why you see them come up with all manner of dreams,” he said.
The CS said Wetang’ula should swallow his pride and join the Jubilee government, which has extensively invested in Bungoma and Trans Nzioa counties.
On his 2017 bid, Wamalwa said he will declare which seat to run for within the constitutional time frame set for public servants.
“Let people hold their horses. I will soon declare exactly what seat I will vie for,” he said.
Reports indicate the CS and Senator met to discuss the possibility of joining hands in a single party.
The plan was reportedly for one to run for Bungoma governor and the other to run in Trans Nzoia.
It was said Wamalwa would join Wetang’ula’s Ford Kenya or the Senator would give up his party for the ruling Jubilee coalition.
