ODM leader Raila Odinga has taken a swipe at Jubilee Party leaders for failing to manage primaries, leading to cancellation.
Speaking to journalists after the burial of former Finance minister David Mwiraria in Meru County, Mr Odinga said the President Kenyatta-led party is inexperienced to carry out the exercise.
“They were talking ill of ODM nominations because we had problems. But their words have returned to haunt them.
“Despite Mr Raphael Tuju’s (the secretary general) chest thumping of how they had put systems in place and hired experts on nominations, they could not make it,โ Mr Odinga said.
The ODM leader observed that Jubilee was wrong to think that the activity “would be a walk in the park”.
Jubilee called off nominations on Friday after many incidences of irregularities.
In a press conference today, Mr Tuju said the primaries will now start on Monday and additional measures have been put in place to avoid a mishaps, such as hiring more vehicles to deliver election materials to avoid delays.
He was accompanied by Ford-Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula.
On a different matter, Mr Odinga promised to fast track the county’s development if the National Super Alliance’s flag-bearer wins the presidency come August.
