Waititu vows to review oppressive Kiambu by-laws passed by Kabogo

Kiambu Jubilee Party governor seat nominee and Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu has vowed to review oppressive county by-laws passed by Governor William Kabogo’s regime immediately he assumes office after the next General Election.

Speaking at Thika Calvary Church during a thanksgiving prayer service, Waititu said land by-laws introduced by Governor Kabogo’s regime are oppressive and denied the ordinary man an opportunity for self development.

In the Kiambu Spatial planning by-laws (2015), the minimum and maximum land holding acreage was stipulated, where land owners of 40 by 80 parcels of land cannot have their building plans approved, and those who have already developed them will have their developments demolished among many other regulations.

“Kabogo’s infamous by-laws are retrogressive and have pushed a lot of people to poverty, we want an all-inclusive government where public participation will be embraced as we do not want to devolve power to a few people,” he said.
