At the young age of 24, Muriu Njoroge was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). MS is a neurological disease that damages vital nerve fibers throughout the central nervous system affecting vision, mobility, and cognitive skills.
As a result, the individual’s vision, ability to walk, or carry out everyday tasks become increasingly difficult if not impossible.
This disease affects each individual differently. Some individuals afflicted with this disease will continue to maintain their level of independence with necessary lifestyle modifications and medication.
Then there are unfortunate cases where the disease is more aggressive and severely attacks the central nervous system in a short period regardless of medication.
Sadly, Muriu Njoroge has this form of MS.
