The UDA MP will be arraigned in court on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10:00 am for plea taking.

Kagombe was arrested on Friday, May 31 at his home in Kileleshwa where he was said to have hidden after the shooting incident.

The Gatundu South MP was arrested after DCI detectives conducted ballistic tests on all firearms at the scene and confirmed that Kagombe owned the gun that fired the bullet.

The incident happened on May 17 after Thika Town MP Alice Ngโ€™angโ€™a and Kamenu Ward MCA Peter Mburu disagreed over the construction of the Sh55 million Kiganjo market in Kamenu Ward, with both leaders claiming credit for the project.

The conflict quickly escalated, with supporters of both politicians throwing stones at each other.

In the melee, Kagombe allegedly drew his gun and fired several shots into the crowd.
