I will not decamp from ODM, says Bishop Margaret Wanjiru
Housing assistant minister Margaret Wanjiru on Sunday denied claims that she and other Central politicians were planning to decamp from ODM.
She said that the rumours were misleading ODM supporters.
Bishop Wanjiru said her rivals were using social media to plant seeds of discord in the party.
She said the media had claimed that she had differed with Prime Ministerโs wife Ida Odinga and that she had left for South Africa to plot her departure from ODM.
โThere are people working hard to get Central and Rift Valley out of ODM. They are trying to fuel seeds of discontent. If they did not manage to bring me down in 2010 they will not now,โ she said during a meeting of Nairobi ODM women leaders.
Mrs Odinga denied the alleged disagreement with Ms Wanjiru, adding that their unity was causing discomfort among competitors.
Kasarani MP Elizabeth Ongoro said Bishop Wanjiru had the support of the women leaders.
Ms Ongoro at the same time denied that the ‘ODM Reloadedโ team had been disbanded, saying they had retreated for further planning.
