Three people suspected to be members of the outlawed Mombasa Republican Council (MRC) were this morning arraigned in court in connection to the killing of four police officers on the eve of the General Election.
The three, Jabiri Ali Dzuya, Bwana Mkuuu Alwan Jabu and Antony Mwatela Mughendi, together with others who were not before the court, were charged with the murder of ten people among them four top cops in the volatile coast province.
Appearing before Mombasa Chief Magistrate Martin Muyak, the suspects were not allowed to take plea as the prosecution requested for more time to investigate the allegations.
The suspects were accused that on March 3rd, 2013 they ambushed several polling stations and killing police officers.
The three were charged for killing four top cops Otieno Owuor, Salim Chebii, Stephen Maithya and Andrew Songwa.
They were remanded at Changamwe Police Station.
The case will be heard on March 19th, 2013 after they undergo psychiatric evaluations.
The prosecution has been given two weeks to complete investigations and carry out the prosecution process.
