NAIROBI, KENYA: Presidentย Uhuru Kenyattaย today witnessed swearing in of newย Cabinet Secretariesย at a function inย State Houseย Nairobi.
The President reminded the Secretaries of tasks ahead which includes delivering ย new constitution and promises made by Jubilee Coalition during the last general election. ย โKenya has a new system of government that requires your input for effectiveness, ย County governments are the current destination for the development and the realization calls for Cabinet support,โ he said.
โWhile we still remain united as one Nation, the Cabinet needs to respect the space accorded to the different arms of the government,โ he said.
The President asked the Secretaries to remain focused on the Vision 2030 blueprint as an alternative of transforming the country into a middle income economy. He asked the Secretaries to forge neccessary alliance with the private sector, international community and other development patners for the realization of the vision.
โThe government has embarkedย on strengthening framework to incorporate private sector and other partners in realising Vision 2030,ย Cabinet Secretariesneed to provide additional strategies to help take Kenya to a new level through the vision.โ
Uhuru emphasized on intergrity among the new Secretaries to ensure full service delivery.
The newย Cabinet Secretariesย underwent National Assembly vetting process. Amina Mohamed Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who travelled abroad did not attend the ceremony.
