A plot by a section of ODM MPs to stage an internal coup to topple Cord leader of minority Francis Nyenze has been nipped in the bud. This is after Cord leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka intervened to avert the imminent disintegration of the coalition, which is still smarting from the March poll defeat. The two leaders held separate meetings with their party elected leaders to scuttle the plot to replace Nyenze with his deputy Jakoyo Midiwo on claims that he is too weak to push the Cord agenda in the house.
