We often wish we could see what lies around the corner in life. It’s almost certain that most of us would love to have a chance and take a peek at what will happen tomorrow so as to be prepared and avoid challenges plus be at a place of controlling the day. However a wise person said though we can’t see around corners, God can. This is indeed reassuring and much better because we learn how to fully have faith and rely on God.
Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Every time you see a chair, you just sit on it. Rarely do we look at its legs, how firmly placed on the ground it is or if the chair is faulty. This is faith. Another illustration of faith is this: Imagine you are boiling eggs and you started wondering how long it would take to get the eggs to cook just right. Would you crack the egg to check how far it has boiled? Rarely because then it would just get spoiled so we wait without cracking the egg then by the time we remove the egg from the water we believe it’s cooked.
We are to live one day at a time. Cracking open tomorrow to see if it would turn out to be how we want it to be would be like cracking open an egg to check if it has cooked. Meddling with tomorrow before its time, is like opening a partly cooked egg which would spoil both today and tomorrow. Let’s remember that Jesus has promised to care for us every day and that includes tomorrow. Therefore, leave tomorrow safely in God’s hands and relax!
“We live by faith, not by sight.”
