Nation Reporter Escapes Death: The Matatu Saga Continues

We left limuru for Nairobi in a Nissan matatu. Fifteen minutes on the
road, the car propeller fell off, causing the car to swerve off the
road, and it overturned at the road side of the busy Nairobi-Nakuru
highway.

The 15 passengers tout and driver, included were left in an upside
down position.

(Screaming….reactions in a typical road accident.)

Luckily, all were able to come out of the vehicle wreckage with
different injuries and taken to hospital.

I suffered a fracture in my left hand particularly the thumb bones.
Doctors recommended surgery to reconstruct the bones. I am still
undergoing treatment. God is great because I am five months pregnant,
and except for my left thumb, I have no other injury. I have stopped
work for some time.

Days later, I learnt that the same matatu had caused an accident a
week before the accident I was in. I think this accident was a case of
a vehicle not serviced or taken care of well by the owner but God
protected us.
