A member of the National Assembly Tuesday evening dumped a body of a man atย the doorย step of Nyanza Provincial Coordinatorโs office.
The body dumped by Nyakach MP Aduma Owuor at Francis Mutieโs office had arrows stuck on its chest.
Owuor explained that the man, 80, was killed at his home and six herds of cattle driven away by rustlers.
The MP said he took the action after making a call to theย officialย to go to the ground to address the rising insecurity issue in theย regionย but failed to turn up.
โWe have even given the authorities names of compromised police officers yet the former Provincial Commissioner and the county commander havenโt taken any actionโ said Owuor, claiming that police were doing little to curb the situation.
Mutie was absent when the body was dropped at his office at 6.15pm.
Later, Kisumu police boss Musa Kongโoli arrived at Mutieโs office and pleaded with the MP to take the body back to Nyakach. Kongโoli said there is aย securitycommittee on the ground that ought to have addressed the concerns being raised by the MP.
The MP stood his ground forcing the police to remove the body to the Starย Hospitalmortuary.
โA body is not allowed to be handled the way it is being done to this and according to law, I should take action on the person who brought the body here,โ said Kongoli.
Owuor had been accompanied by his supporters to Mutieโs office.
When contacted, Mutie termed the action by the MP as barbaric, noting that investigation into the killing of the old man is ongoing.-standardmedia.co.ke
