An unknown number of attackers raided Nyakach MP Aduma Awuor’s rural home in Kabete, Upper Nyakach and killed his parents.
The attackers first hit the MP’s mother’s head with a blunt object, killing her on the spot.
They then locked the father inside before setting the house on fire.
The local administration and the residents suspect it could be a revenge attack following the MP’s past operations to flush out criminals that even led to the lynching of some suspects.
Over the last few months since his election to Parliament, the MP has repeatedly decried the state of insecurity in his constituency.
In September, he pulled a stunt when he dumped a body of an 80 year old man at the door step of the Nyanza Regional Commissionerโs office.
The man who had two arrows sticking through his chest was believed to have been a victim of cattle rustlers.
He said the reason he dumped the body at the Commissionerโs office was to draw his attention to the rampant insecurity in the area.ย The MP has argued that law enforcers have done little to bring the situation under control.
The MP has claimed that the some officers have contributed to the problem.
