Kenyan native Ronald Kimeli Kurgat set a new record when he finished in first place in the fourth annual Jerusalem Winner Marathon on Friday.
The 28-year-old completed the 26-mile race with a speedy time of two hours, 16 minutes and nine seconds.
The second and third place winners, also from Kenya, respectively were 24-year-old Patrick Wachira Muriuki with a time of two hours, 16 minutes and 35 seconds, and 37-year-old Luka Kipkemoi Chelimo with a time of two hours, 18 minutes and eight seconds.
Some 25,000 runners took part in the sporting event,ย which included full and half marathon tracks, passing through a section of the Old City.
