Inspiration: Does the delay justify the rejection?

Inspiration: Does the delay justify the rejection?

Think about it this way. In life there are certain things that we have either to willingly or forced to wait for. Like?

  1. When a woman is pregnant, she has to patiently wait for the baby who might decide to be on time or wait a little bit longer to be born
  2. Students have to wait for the completion of their studies and then graduation
  3. People have to wait for the X-mas day before they can open their presents
  4. Once a couple says, โ€œWe doโ€ they will have to patiently wait for the baby. My wife and I waited for four long years

In like manner, many of us have for many years now patiently waited for the second coming of Jesus. When we first believed and many years later, we read the Bible and believed that He was coming, yee, even at the door. But I do not need to tell you that that hasnโ€™t happened yet.

Does that change anything? Not as far as I am concerned. My position, attitude, believe, faith and resolve to wait for His second coming has not changed a bit. That He has delayed does not give me any reason to doubt or question the sure word of God. To me, the delay does not justify the rejection; no, not at all.

I do not want to be among the number that will ridicule the message of His coming. Will you? Read the following and reflect

โ€œAbove all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. ย They will say, โ€œWhere is this โ€˜comingโ€™ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.โ€ But they deliberately forget that long ago by Godโ€™s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. ย By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. ย By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the Day of Judgment and destruction of the ungodly. But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.โ€ (2 Peter 3:3-8)

Even so, come Lord Jesus
