HOPKINTON (CBS) โ A group of elite Kenyan runners in town for the Boston Marathon kept tradition Thursday with their annual visit to the Elmwoodย Schoolย in Hopkinton.
About 600 screaming second and third graders greeted the runners with a rock star-like rally in the school gym.
Itโs the 22nd year of the Scholars and Starsย Programย at Elmwood.
Studentsย spend part of the school year learning about Kenyan culture and traditions, as well as Swahili, in the weeks leading up to the race.
At the end of the program, a group of third graders went on a short โfun runโ with the Kenyan marathoners outside of the school.
