For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many grief (1 Timothy 6:10)
The love of money has been a big problem to many people. They can do anything (steal, kill, betray /sell others) in order to make more money.
But what ought to be the right attitude towards money and want?
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for you treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21)
“Two things I ask of you, Lord; do not refuse me before I die: Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. (Proverbs 30:7-9)
“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. “ (Philippians 4:11)
Take a few minutes and ask yourself the following questions
1. What is my attitude towards money?
2. Whom do I love most-God, people or money?
3. How do you make your money? By stealing from God/people, sold/betrayed a friend, by working hard
4. Do you love money so much that you would rather see someone die than reach out?
5. How much of your money goes to doing God’s work?
