โIf any honor existed in war, it was in fighting to protect others from harmโ~ Christopher Paolini, Eldest
We are at war; a war with our enemy Satan. But the good news is that God promises to fight our battles for us. The devil is ruthless and he is out to torment people and destroy their souls. The bible describes him as a murderer and โa roaring lion prowling around seeking whom he may devour.โ Keep in mind that by the same token, we are described as sheep and for non-believers, sheep without a shepherd! How terrifying.
Living in this world, you have to realize that you need protection and more so, divine protection. Watching the news, we see stories of road carnage, disease, crime, disasters, and other acts perpetuated by the evil one. We should plead the blood of Jesus over our lives and over those we love to ensure that we are protected from the fiery darts of the devil.
Our Lord Jesus Christ shed his blood and purchased us victory over the devil. His blood assures us protection and though there may be many voices of alarm warning us to be afraid of events we see happening all over the world, we are not meant to live afraid. Letโs be confident in Godโs promise of protection and speak Psalm 91 over our lives.
“A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your dwelling– even the LORD, who is my refuge– then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.โ
