A woman who was stripped naked in Kayole for allegedly wearing indecent clothes on Monday evening left Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital yesterday without informing the doctors.
She had been taken to the hospital after the attack.
Doctors said the woman was taken to the hospital by her sister and the police.
They said she was treated for minor tissue injuries and admitted.
A group of Nairobi women MCAs and Maendeleo ya Wanawake Nairobi chairperson Martha Miyandazi went to the hospital to visit her.
However, they did not find her as the hospital’s medical superintendent Julius Ogato said she was not there.
Some “My Dress, My Choice” protestors were also at the hospital.
Ogato said she “disappeared” from the hospital and they do not have any information on her whereabouts.
Miyandazi condemned the incident.
She said people need to respect others.
“I denounce stripping of ladies in public. But I encourage parental counselling. Men should be disciplined because we don’t strip them when they are peeing on roadsides. They should not see us as moving ribs because we were created from their ribs,” Miyandazi said.
MCA Rachel Kamweru called on men to stay away from women if they feel offended with their dress.
She said she is not for women putting on short and revealing clothes but two wrongs do not make a right.
On Monday, more than 300 women and men protested in Nairobi after two women were stripped naked in Nairobi and Mombasa.
The women at the hospital said they will look for all the women who were stripped and offer them psychological counselling.
