Kajwang brothers escape unhurt in Narok road accident

Kajwang brothersNarok, Kenya: Three brothers to the late Homa Bay Senator Otieno Kajwang were Saturday morning involved in a road accident in Narok County. The three, Homa Bay senatorial seat aspirant Moses Kajwang, Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang and their elder brother Joe Okoto escaped unhurt when the vehicle they were travelling in veered off the road and rolled four times. Moses Kajwang who spoke to The Standard said that they were heading to Homa Bay to meet delegates ahead of Monday nominations. “We unfortunately had an accident in Narok after our car rolled four times,” said Kajwang, adding that they were not visibly hurt but had to go for check-up. The aspirant together with those who occupied the vehicle went for check-up at Tenwek hospital in Bomet County.

They were travelling to Homa Bay County to meet delegates who have been tasked to nominate ODM flagbearer. The delegates to take part in the nomination exercise on December 15 will be drawn from all the 20 constituencies in the county, the 20 members of the branch executive, the nine MPs, the 48 Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) and the Governor. Though some of the aspirants and area MPs feel the use of delegates will have contravened the spirit of the Constitution by denying the electorates the chance to participate in electing their preferred candidate, the party has blamed its decision on the short notice by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
