The cars and vehicle parts, including engines, would have been further exported to other countries to be sold, according to officers from Operation Endeavour.

KEYLESS VEHICLE THEFT

The operation was started by police to emphasise on driversโ€™ need to secure their vehicles to prevent keyless vehicle theft.

Detective Inspector Wayne Cooke, of ACPO Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (AVCIS) said:

โ€œAVCIS has been supporting our Metropolitan Police Service colleagues with our ports intelligence unit staff identifying opportunities for examining and recovering vehicles and vehicle parts stolen through keyless methods.โ€

Officers at the Port of Felixstowe in Suffolk said they started opening the containers on Tuesday and encountered hurdles as the containers were too jammed with vehicle parts and the rest of the goods for quick extraction.
