Churchill show comedianย Sande Bush aka Dr Ofweneke is not pleased with veteran actress Mary Khavere aka Mama Kayai.
Dr Ofweneke was responding to utterances made by the former Vioja Mahakamani actress over the decision by KBC to hire a youthful cast.
โWe grew up watching her. She has been our role model for all those years. We so admired her. But it was wrong for her to dismiss us as just youths from Mathare and Kariobangi. The mother of a man killed in an attack in Mandera last Sunday has decried the lack of state assistance in burial preparations.
Mary Akinyi said she has not received communication from the government since Allan Otieno died in the attack at Bulla Mpya by suspected al Shabaab militia.
Speaking at Maringo estate in Nairobi on Friday, Akinyi noted that victims of other attacks in the Northern region were flown to Nairobi.
She said Otieno’s body was transported by road using funds raised by well-wishers from the county.
“I am shocked that since the attack took place and my son killed, the government never took the responsibility of bringing his body to Nairobi in time for preservation as we plan for burial,” she said.
Akinyi sought more aid in transporting the body from City Mortuary to Nyando constituency in Kisumu for burial.
The widow with four children said Otieno was the family’s primary breadwinner.
She said he left Mandera after the December bus and quarry attacks but returned when the government assured workers of safety.
Three of Otieno’s colleagues who were injured in the attack are admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital.
The attack followed one on Mandera Governor Ali Roba’s convoy, in which four including two of his bodyguards, died on Friday.
Roba called for county commissioner Alex Nkoyo’s transfer, describing him as inexperienced and unavailable during emergencies.
While asking leaders not to politicise the attacks, Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery however said Nkoyo will not be transferred
