The First ever Kenya Diaspora Global Summit

WASHINGTON DC.,USA–June 9, 2015–The dream of the Kenya Diaspora acting together as one voice will finally become a reality when representatives of Kenyan organizations across the globe come face to face to launch the International Confederation of Kenya Diaspora Organizations (ICKDO).

The international planning summit committee met on May 31st and June 7th and agreed on the summit date, framework and roundtables.

The Summit will see the election of leaders across the Globe for the first time. It will also discuss mechanisms for empowering the Diaspora to be full partners in Kenyaโ€™s economic development.

In addition, the Summit will feature round tables on practical projects which will be launched immediately after the Summit.

Short listed round tables include: trade zones/AGOA/business hub, IEBC Voting Collaboration, tender training/funding, career planning for youth /students, Diaspora Tourism, Diaspora Investment fund and strategic investments (SACCOS), mental health, home link platform for business management, solutions for family emergency response, and platform for engagement and how to strengthen Kenya Welfare Associations across the Globe.
