Yes, you read that right, Mugo wa Wairimu is now free to roam the streets of Nairobi.
Mugo was freed yesterday due to lack of sufficient evidence to nail him despite public outrage over a video of him taking advantage of his patients circulating widely.
The Head of Serious Crimes Unit John Kariuki begged women to come forward and present their cases but no one came to record a statement “Please come forward so we can get the evidence required in law,” he said.“We are at the risk of having no evidence to charge the suspect in court.” Unfortunately no woman has come forward not even the ones interviewed by Citizen TV.
If this continues and no one comes forward to record a statement, the only thing Mugo can be accused of is indecently assaulting his patients. Meaning he could get a year or less for that!
